Spring Reading Thing

I decided to limit my list to 8 books for the Callapidder Days Spring Reading Thing. I read nonfiction more slowly over a longer period of time than fiction and have several titles in progress now, so I'm only including novels for the reading thing. This list includes the fiction titles I didn't get to for the Winter Reading Challenge and a few additions (I'm in an online Jane Austen book club), and it's small enough that I can finish it but still have time to pick something up on a whim or if I see a good recommendation while reading other Spring Reading Thing lists.

The Shack (William Young) [my review]
Grace at Bender Springs (Vinita Hampton Wright)
Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen)
The Tiger Rising (Kate DiCamillo)
Dragon Bones (Lisa See)
Death, Deceit, and Some Smooth Jazz (Claudia Mair Burney)
Mansfield Park (Jane Austen)
Eventide (Cindy Martinusen)

Happy reading! Even if you don't participate in the reading thing, do check out the other participants' lists for some good reading suggestions.

Other Books Read:
Finding Hollywood Nobody (Lisa Samson)
Jesus for President (Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw)
We the Purple (Marcia Ford) [my review]
Ruby Among Us (Tina Ann Forkner)
River Rising (Athol Dickson)
All New Square Foot Gardening (Mel Bartholomew)
I Heart Bloomberg (Melody Carlson)
House of Dark Shadows (Robert Liparulo)
Watcher in the Woods (Robert Liparulo)
The Big Picture (Jenny B. Jones)

I'm not familiar with most of these, but they look good. I read a book a long time ago by Cindy Martinusen and really enjoyed it -- I'll have to check out Eventide. Thanks for being part of SRT '08!

I'd have to agree with your thoughts on "the shack". There were parts that I thought were thought-provoking and parts that kind of bothered me. Or made me uncomfortable. I would like to know more about the author's views as well.
